Da pa ne boste mislili, da je National Geographic naredil oddajo kar tako, v "tri dni", je potrebno povedati, da poteka po svetu kar nekaj raziskav s področja znanosti o trkih vlakov...nič kaj dosti manj kot o trkih v cestnem prometu...

Abstract;Real size carbodies of railway vehicles were tested under static compression load in order to evaluate crush behavior at train collision accidents. A light weight stainless steel carbody structure was the target of this study. The FE analysis was carried out to validate the compression tests. These results provided the compression load versus deformation characteristics of the end structures of rail-car bodies. The multi-body system (MBS) model was also used to simulate the train crash behavior. The load versus deformation curve by the compression tests and FE analysis was introduced to the non-linear spring characteristics. The result by the MBS simulation shows the typical behavior of rakes at accidents, i.e. overriding phenomena of the vehicles involved in the collision. (author abst.)
Z zgornjim člankom si ne moremo pomagati, ker je v japonščini. Tisti, ki hoče kaj več zvedeti o teh raziskavah, mora poiskati gradiva kongresov, kamor pridejo predavat tudi Japonci v angleščini. Takšni članki so plačljivi (okoli 15 €).
Hotel sem samo povdariti, da raziskave potekajo po celem svetu in ne samo v Evropi...

Train crash on Bohemian Western Railroad near the village of Újezd, probably around present-day train stop Cerhovice on the route from Plzeň to Prague. It happened on 10 November 1868 around 6 am. A passenger train carrying Hungarian and Slovak soldiers home from an excercise in Plzeň was stopped by deep snow on the tracks. It was followed by a cargo train loaded by coal that failed to stop and crashed into the passenger train from the back. Four passenger cars were demolished, killing 22 soldiers on the spot and injuring 60 others, 13 of which died later.
