Questions about 664, 363, and 342
Questions about 664, 363, and 342
Good Morning!
I'm a photograph from Austria an i have a few questions about some machines.
At first the 664er!
Who produced them, and where were the built? (wich company etc.)
How many where built, and how many were now in use?
What's their maximum speed, and how many horsepower do they have?
What means their nick name Regan?
Second 363

Re: Questions about 664, 363, and 342
Descriptions (available also in English) of the following photos should answer most of your questions:
664, 363 and 342
AFAIK 39 locomotives of class 363 (plus additional one for spare parts) and 40 locomotives of class 342 were delivered. No idea about the class 664. They were produced and delivered in 1980s. Because of their US origin they were nicknamed after then actual US president Ronald Reagan. (in similar fashion older locomotives were nicknamed as Kennedy and Polish EMUs as Gomulka).

This link may be useful as well: http://www.miniaturna-zeleznica.com/Eng/menuE.htm
The page is mostly in slovenian, however the photos and text will help you find your loco. I guess you will also be able to read most of the tech specs, especially if you use google translate for some of the less obvious words

Ajznponar, slight corrections to loco 664. There are actually two series of this loco, series 0 used in Croatia and series 100, used in Slovenia. Both wer manufactured in Slavonski Brod, Croatia by company Djuro Djaković under the license of GM. If I can count correctly, in Slovenia we have 120 locos of class 664-100. And only this type was nicknamed Reagan due to the U.S. presidency of Ronald Reagan on the loco delivery time (1984?).

Locomotives class 664 series 000 were produced at General Motors of Canada (acronym: GMC, pronunciation of the acronym: dzi-em-si, hence the Croatian nickname for 000 series: James, pronunciation: dzeims, instead of Nixon, who was the US president when these locomotives (001-058) were produced) in London, Ontario state, Canada. All were produced in the year 1973.Gorchi napisal/-a:Ajznponar, slight corrections to loco 664. There are actually two series of this loco, series 0 used in Croatia and series 100, used in Slovenia. Later, in the year 1980, GMC produced another six units (059-064) for Kosovo branch of Yugoslav Railways.
20 locomotives class 664.1 (101-120) were produced at Đuro Đaković factory in Slavonski Brod, Croatia state, Yugoslavia.
