This layout was exhibited at Spalding and Wakefield shows recently. Not many SAR layouts around! I took photographs for the Spalding club website (I am webmaster) and video at Wakefield.

All the passenger cars and diesel and electric locomotives are by Lima, the steam locos are from DJH kits, but I think the garratt was handbuilt.

Alan, as fas as you know, are those EMD GT26 CW diesels still available by Lima?
Or maybe you know any other manufacturer of that model?
I'm asking because Croatian Railways have almost the same engine (class 2063, ex JŽ 663) and I'd like to have one on my shelf/layout?
There would be some changes necessary, but in overall, this model would be a great starting point.

Danijel, I don't think any of the SAR stuff is still available, I cannot remember seeing any on ebay, either.
